Possibility of A Cyclone, Rain Lasts For 3 Days: Met Office

Although there is no possibility of a cyclone in September, the Meteorological Office warned of the risk of a cyclone in October or November. Along with that, the rain may reduce in the extended period of the next three days, the Met Office said.

The Meteorologist Md. Bazlur Rashid revealed this information in the morning briefing of the Meteorological Office on Saturday (September 14).

The special weather bulletin (No. 5) signed by him said that the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal has moved slightly northwestward and intensified. It was staying as a deep low pressure over Jessore and adjoining areas this morning. It may move further northwest. Due to the influence of low pressure, there will be rain across the country on Saturday. Which will be continue till tomorrow. But the rainfall will decrease gradually.

Due to the influence of this deep depression, there has been heavy rainfall across the country in the last two days, especially in the Chattogram division. Among these, Cox's Bazar has recorded the highest rainfall this season. Every seaport of the country has been asked to watch warning signal number 3 and in river port, warning signal number 2. Which will be valid till tomorrow.

On the other hand, the 72-hour weather forecast was issued at 9 am on Saturday. It said that the extension of the monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, the deep depression center, and central Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay of Bengal. As a result, there is a possibility of rain in the whole country for the next three days.

According to the organization, until 9 am on Sunday (September 15), there likely to occur light to moderate rain or rain with thunder in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Also, there likely to occur moderate to very heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. A mild heat wave is moving over Rangpur division including Bogura, Sirajganj, and Sylhet districts, and may subside. Day and night temperatures may drop by (2-3) degree Celsius across the country.

On Monday (September 16), light to moderate rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder may occur at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions till 9 am. Also, there may be moderate to very heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.

On Tuesday (September 17) light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thundershowers may occur at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions till 9 am. Along with this, there may be moderate heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may increase by (2-3) degree Celsius across the country.

According to the extended five-day weather forecast, precipitations may decrease and temperatures may increase.
