Thirteen UN peacekeepers have been killed in clashes with the armed rebel group M23 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo). However, all Bangladeshi peacekeepers in the conflict zone remain safe.

This information was shared in a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday (January 27) morning.

According to the ISPR, all Bangladeshi peacekeepers in DR Congo are safe amidst the ongoing conflict, and continuous communication is being maintained with them.

Earlier, on Sunday (January 26), a BBC report stated that nine soldiers from South Africa, three from Malawi, and one from Uruguay, all serving under the UN peacekeeping mission, were killed in the clashes.
