Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) again has ordered to suspend 3 G and 4 G services of internet on mobile telephones.
It was informed to the media on behalf of some operators that all the mobile telephone operators were directed to suspend these networks from Saturday afternoon to 12 midnight on Monday.
Following the direction 2 G internet service will be in operation. Under this internet service text can be sent through mobile phones but photographs and videos cannot be sent. As a result of slowed down internet speed use of social media will be hard through mobile telephones.
Earlier, from 10 pm, December 27 to 8 am, December 28 mobile phone’s network for 3 G and 4 G services were suspended throughout the country.
On Friday, following direction from the Election Commission, Bangladesh Bank issued order to suspend money transaction through mobile phones. It will be effective till 5 pm on the voting day.
