Following a four-day visit to Qatar and participation in Pope Francis's funeral, Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government, has returned to Bangladesh.
On Sunday (April 27) at 1:30 pm Bangladesh time, Dr Yunus departed from Rome, Italy. His flight landed in Dhaka at 3:00 am local time.
Earlier on Saturday, Dr Yunus attended Pope Francis' funeral alongside other world leaders. He had arrived in Rome from Doha, Qatar, the previous day (Friday).
Following the funeral, Dr Yunus met with two senior leaders of the Catholic Church— Cardinal Silvano Maria Tomasi and Cardinal Jacob Kouvakad. They expressed their gratitude for his work, referring to him as a close friend of the late Pope and commending his contributions to the global fight against poverty.
It is noteworthy that Dr Yunus had left for Qatar on April 21 to participate in the 'Arthna Summit 2025.'
