2 Killed in Gopalganj Motorcycle Crash

In Gopalganj, two school students were killed after their motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree.

The accident occurred on Friday (January 10) around 9:30 am in front of the Durgapur Temple on the Gopinathpur-Kotakhol internal road in Jalalabad Union.

The deceased were identified as Badhon Fakir (15), son of Bulbul Fakir, and Mahim Sheikh (16), son of Polash Sheikh, both from Ichakhali village in Jalalabad Union of Sadar Upazila. Badhon Fakir was a student at Khaliya United Academy, and Mahim Sheikh was a 9th-grade student at Pachuria Alia Madrasa.

Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman told the media that both victims were very young and lacked motorcycle driving skills and a driving license.

He stated that due to overspeeding, they lost control of the motorcycle at the Durgapur turn and crashed into a tree, suffering severe injuries. Locals rescued them and took them to Gopalganj General Hospital, but both died on the way. The bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
