The government has officially dismissed reports claiming that the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Bangla first paper question paper was leaked across all education boards, describing the allegations as "completely false, baseless and motivated."
In a notice issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Education urged students, guardians, and the general public not to be misled by misinformation circulating on social media platforms and certain news portals.
The government's clarification follows the arrest of four individuals by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The suspects were charged with swindling money by spreading rumours of SSC question paper leaks through a fake Facebook page.
The ministry highlighted that the Bangla first paper examination was held on April 21 and the Bangla second paper on April 23, with no reports of any untoward incidents from any examination centre.
According to the ministry, the rumour regarding question paper leakage surfaced only after the exams had already been completed, causing "unnecessary anxiety among students and parents."
The ministry further asserted that the claim of question paper leakage is merely a rumour being spread with the intention of "tarnishing the government’s image."
It also clarified that no official or employee of the ministry or its subordinate offices is involved in any such activity.
The ministry advised citizens to remain cautious, avoid being influenced by false reports, and strictly refrain from making any financial transactions related to such fraudulent claims.
Additionally, the public has been urged to inform the Ministry of Education immediately if they encounter any propaganda or suspicious activities related to question paper leaks to ensure the integrity of the ongoing national examinations.
