6 Die of Dengue and 1,561 Hospitalized across Bangladesh in 24 Hours

Six individuals succumbed to dengue fever while an additional 1,561 patients were admitted to hospitals following mosquito-borne infections during the twenty-four hours leading up to 8 am on Sunday, as outlined in the regular daily bulletin released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A geographical breakdown of the newly hospitalized cases indicates that 627 patients were admitted within Dhaka Division, 93 in Mymensingh Division, 181 in Chattogram Division, 275 in Khulna Division, 202 in Barishal Division, 104 in Rajshahi Division, 73 in Rangpur Division, and six in Sylhet Division.

Statistical data from the report show that an aggregate of 51,837 individuals have required hospital treatment for dengue nationwide since the commencement of the year.

Factoring in the latest six fatalities recorded over the past 24 hours, the cumulative death toll resulting from the disease has climbed to 149 for the current year.

Conversely, medical discharges during the same 24-hour window accounted for 1,394 patients who successfully recovered and left healthcare facilities.

This brings the total number of individuals who have triumphed over the illness and returned home after receiving medical care this year to 48,093.

For historical comparison, the previous year recorded a total of 102,861 confirmed dengue infections alongside 413 fatalities attributable to the disease.
