Following recent US military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Israel is reportedly planning to conclude its current military operations against Iran soon. A proposal from Israel has been conveyed to Tehran via the United States' Arab allies, aiming to bring an end to the conflict.

According to a Monday report from the Wall Street Journal, citing Arab and Israeli officials, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) anticipate completing their targeted military campaign in Iran within the coming days, which could pave the way for a ceasefire.

Arab officials informed the Wall Street Journal that the US has communicated Israel's desire for a swift end to the operations through its regional partners. However, Iran, while acknowledging the message, is reportedly unwilling to cease operations without responding to the recent US strikes.

Israeli leaders are hopeful that Iran will agree to enter discussions regarding its nuclear program. The Wall Street Journal report suggests that any cessation of hostilities would need to be reciprocal, with both sides adhering to an agreement.

An Israeli official, speaking to the Times of Israel on Sunday, stated that Israel is prepared to halt its bombing campaign immediately if Iran agrees to abandon its nuclear program. "Ending this operation depends not on us, but on Iran," the official said. "We can finish it now. If a deal is reached, Israel will be satisfied with the outcome of its campaign."

Conversely, if Iran continues its missile attacks, Israel has warned of more forceful retaliation, with the primary targets being the Iranian leadership. Israeli media outlet Walla reported on Monday that strikes on government-controlled sites in central Tehran were intended as a message: continued missile attacks from Iran will lead to an escalation of Israeli strikes.

Citing security sources, Walla indicated that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is a significant obstacle to Tehran agreeing to end the conflict.

Israeli officials, speaking to the Wall Street Journal, expressed their expectation that the joint US-Israeli strikes will compel Iran to return to negotiations and ultimately agree to halt its nuclear program.
