Three people have been killed after an Iranian missile struck a residential building in the city of Beersheba, southern Israel.
CNN reported this information on Tuesday (June 24), citing Israel's emergency services.
Among the deceased are a man approximately 40 years old, a woman around 30, and a man about 20 years old. All three were in critical condition after the Iranian missile attack.
A spokesperson for the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service confirmed the deaths, adding that six more individuals are being treated for light to moderate injuries.
Describing the scene, MDA stated that black smoke was rising from the affected area, and multiple buildings suffered extensive damage. One person was found unconscious outside a building, and two more inside.
New Iranian Missiles Detected, Ceasefire Claims Disputed
Meanwhile, the Israeli army has reported new missile launches from Iran. They stated that newly launched missiles from Iran have been detected and that efforts are underway to intercept them. Citizens have been advised to remain in protected areas until further notice.
It is noteworthy that Israel initiated an attack on Iran on the night of June 13 without any provocation. In an operation dubbed "Operation Rising Lion," Zionist forces attacked various military installations, nuclear research centers, and residential areas across Iran, including the capital, Tehran.
This attack resulted in the deaths of over 500 people, including Iranian Armed Forces Chief Mohammad Bagheri, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Chief Commander Hossein Salami, Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Commander and senior Revolutionary Guard officer Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, and ten nuclear scientists.
In retaliation for Israel's attack, Iran launched "Operation True Promise-3." Tehran's ballistic missiles have penetrated Israel's advanced air defense systems, striking key targets. While casualties have been low, Israel has sustained significant damage.
Amidst the ongoing conflict between the two countries, the United States attacked Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities on the night of June 21. In response, Tehran attacked US bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday night.
Following these events, Donald Trump stated that Israel and Iran had agreed to a "complete and comprehensive" ceasefire.
However, the Tehran Times has reported that Trump's claim is entirely false. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi also stated that no agreement has been reached regarding a ceasefire or the cessation of military operations.
