In regular operations conducted across various areas of the capital, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 522 people over the past 24 hours. During this period, 25 cases were filed over various offenses.

Md. Aktar Hossain, Deputy Police Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed this information on Sunday (August 30).

According to DMP sources, those arrested include 51 from the Ramna division, 38 from Lalbagh, 48 from Wari, 64 from Motijheel, 76 from Tejgaon, 168 from Mirpur, 34 from Gulshan, and 43 from the Uttara division.

Additionally, the Detective Branch arrested one person.

The drives led to the recovery of 4,054 pieces of Yaba tablets, 346 grams of marijuana, 100 grams of gold, two knives, and nine mobile phones. One victim was also rescued during the same operations.

The DMP stated that these drives were carried out to curb crime and maintain a normal law and order situation across various police station areas in the capital.

Along with the recovery of narcotics and various pieces of evidence, the perpetrators were apprehended.

Legal processes are underway to take action against the arrestees under relevant laws.
