Samiul bows out of Paris Olympics, placed 69th in swimming

Bangladeshi Rabiul Islam has been eliminated from the qualifier in Archer. This time swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi has been added to that list. She missed the semifinals in the 100-meter freestyle by 4.69 seconds. The athlete finished the Olympics 69 out of 79.

On Tuesday (July 30), Samiul finished first in the first heat of the 100-meter freestyle at the swimming venue Paris La Défense Arena with a timing of 53.85. But his timing in the second heat is 52.22. He finished fifth out of eight in the second heat with a timing of 53.10 seconds.

'In fact, the timing of swimmers playing in the semifinals of this event is between 47-48 seconds. We are far behind. I was at my best time but I wanted to finish in 52 seconds,' Samiul said.

Samiul said, 'The Olympics are the biggest games in the world. You can learn a lot from participating here. The experience here will come in handy in SAFF Games and other sports. If anyone can improve the timing, he will get a medal in the SAFF Games.'
