In the 70th minute, a well-worked move involving Griezmann and Ruggeri resulted in a cross that Alexander Sørloth converted, physically overpowering defender Gerard Martín to double the lead.

The Road Ahead
Barcelona, who haven't lifted the Champions League trophy since 2015, now face a mountain to climb. Having reached the semifinals last year, they are now on the brink of a quarterfinal exit.

This victory continues Atletico's recent upper hand, having knocked Barca out of the Copa del Rey in March. While Barcelona won their La Liga encounter earlier this week, Simeone’s men have seized the advantage when it matters most in Europe.
