Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "China is one of our the main development partners. Bilateral relations between the two nations should be focus on the further development of the two countries.
During a courtesy meeting with the Chinese vice-minister for foreign affairs Sun Weidong at Ganobhaban, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Our main goal in bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China should be how we can develop our country."
After the meeting, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed journalists.
Chinese minister Sun Weidong said, "In various sectors, especially renewable energy and hi-tech, we are interested in strengthening cooperation with Bangladesh."
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We are allocated land in the Bangladesh Economic Zone for Chinese entrepreneurs and they can set up industries there. On behalf of the Chinese President and Prime Minister, Mr. Weidong convey the congratulatory message to Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina.
Appreciating the development of Bangladesh, chinese vice- minister for foreign affairs said, "I visited Bangladesh about 10 years ago. However, I see Bangladesh is now much better position this time than before.Under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has experienced unprecedented development."
He added, "I visited Bangladesh's Padma Bridge and five other projects built with assistance of China."
Bangladesh Prime Minister also extended her greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
