Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the government is trying to bring back the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu and intellectuals from abroad for facing justice.
He said this to the newsmen while answering questions after paying respect to the martyred intellectuals at Rayerbazar killing ground in the capital to mark the Martyred Intellectuals Day on Thursday.
Obaidul Quader said, we need unity against those who do not believe in the idealism of independence.
He said, at present we need unity of Bangalee nation to establish non-communalism. Even we need to make mass uprising against militants. Awami League is working on with the pro liberation force.
While answering to a question over banning Jamaat Obaidul Quader said, government cannot take steps until the matter is settled in the Appellate Division.
Earlier, President Mohammad Abdul Hamid paid tribute to the Martyred Intellectual Mausoleum in Mirpur, Dhaka at 7 am. After that, Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin, BB, PSC paid homage with wreaths on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
