Writ in High Court seeking registration ban of AL

SARDA Society filed a writ in the High Court seeking ban and cancellation of registration of Awami League. At the same time, the names of the institutions named after Sheikh Hasina have also been requested to remove.

A writ was filed against the party and its leader for indiscriminate killing of students.

Executive director Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan filed the writ on behalf of the human rights organization SARDA Society on Monday (August 19).

The writ petition is expected to be heard in the High Court bench headed by Justice KM Asaduzzaman.

In the writ, Arifur Rahman sought a minimum 3-year term for the current interim government to reform the country. Along with this, it has been requested to bring back 11 lakh crores smuggled abroad and to transfer the officials who were appointed on contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.

The writ petitioner has sought a rule and order from the court on the issues of the writ.
