Advisory Council Expands, 5 More Advisers to be Sworn in Today
Five more advisers are joining the advisory council of the interim government headed by Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
They will take oath on Sunday (November 10) at 7 pm.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the matter.
Before this, after the mass uprising of students, Muhammad Yunus took oath on August 8 as the chief advisor of the interim government. Currently, there are 21 members in this government including the chief adviser. Many of them are performing the duties of several important ministries.
At present, three advisers of the interim government are serving three ministries each. 10 people are performing the duties of two ministries each. In addition, There are 6 ministries and departments under Muhammad Yunus.
The Chief Adviser handles the Cabinet Department, Ministry of Defense, Department of Armed Forces, Ministry of Food, Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Tourism.
In addition, Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed is in charge of the Ministry of Finance, Commerce, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Dr. Asif Nazrul served in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, and Ministry of Culture.
Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways have been entrusted to Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury is handling the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture. Hassan Arif is handling the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Ministry of Lands. Adilur Rahman Khan is handling the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan in charge of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources; Nahid Islam in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Asif Mahmud in the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Labor and Employment, Farooq-e-Azam in the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain in the Ministry of Textiles and Jute and Ministry of Shipping. Sharmeen S Murshid officiating in the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Ministry of Social Welfare.
