Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said, Finance Minister did a mistake by declaring the date of election. He cannot say that. I am saying in front of media, he did a mistake and should have not been said like that.
He said this while responding to the newsmen at Hotel Radisson in the capital on Thursday. He said these at the concluding program of Forum of Election Monitoring Bodies in South Asia (FEMBoSA) an organization of election commissions comprising eight South Asian nations.
Earlier the Finance Minister on Wednesday said the national election may be held on December 27.
The CEC said, nine declarations were given in the FEMBoSA conference in the name of Dhaka resolution. Election Commissioners from eight member countries were present in the conference. They expressed their interest over the election management in Bangladesh.
He said, they expressed their interest in voter ID cards, EVM method, EVM use in local government election and voter list registration method in Bangladesh.
