In protest of the attack, vandalism, the lowering and tearing of the national flag, and alleged conspiracies to incite communal riots at Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India, three BNP-affiliated organizations — Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swecchasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal — initiated a march towards the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

The march also included plans to submit a memorandum to the Indian High Commission following the protest.

This program began at 11:30 am on Sunday (December 8) in front of the BNP's central office at Naya Paltan.

Initially, they faced obstacles in Rampura. Later, the police proposed allowing six representatives to proceed to submit a memorandum.

The six representatives are Abdul Monayem Munna, President of Jubo Dal, it's General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Noyon; SM Jilani, President of Swecchasebak Dal, and its General Secretary Rajib Ahsan; and Rakibul Islam Rakib, President of Chhatra Dal, and its General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

On Sunday (December 8) at around 12:45 pm, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gulshan Zone Police Tarek Ahmed confirmed this to the media.

He stated, "We appreciate any peaceful program, but certain rules must be followed to maintain law and order. We have communicated with the Indian High Commission and accordingly, a proposal was made to allow six representatives from the BNP's three organizations to go there."

Earlier, at 12:35 pm, the police set up a barricade on the Rampura Bridge to stop the march.
