The government has decided to procure soybean oil, palm oil, and lentils through the local open tender process.
The decision was made at an Advisory Council Committee meeting chaired by Economic Advisor Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed on Wednesday (December 11).
According to the decision, the government will purchase 3.81 million liters of refined loose soybean oil from S Alam Super Edible Oil Limited through direct local procurement. The price per liter of soybean oil is set at 140 BDT with a total cost of 533.4 million BDT.
The government will also procure 11 million liters of loose palm oil from the same company. The price per liter is set at 130 BDT, amounting to a total cost of 1.43 billion BDT.
Additionally, a decision has been made to procure 10,000 tons of lentils from Nabil Naba Foods Limited in Rajshahi at a rate of 95.97 BDT per kilogram, totaling 959.7 million BDT.
All these commodities will be purchased for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).
