5-G technology if Awami League comes to power

Awami League will introduce ‘5-G’ internet facility in the country if comes to power after winning the eleventh national parliament election.

The party has given the promise in the election manifesto which was unveiled on Tuesday. Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared the manifesto titled ‘Bangladesh in pursuit of progress’ at Hotel Sonargaon in the morning.

It is mentioned in the manifesto, 5-G facility will be introduced in the country by the year 2021-23. Our challenge in the coming days is to stand ahead in the age of digitalization in international arena. Our dream is to implement the visions of Mujib year-2020, Digital Bangladesh year-2021, SDG year-2030 and Developed Bangladesh year-2041.

Upholding the achievements of last 10 years in digital sector it is said in the manifesto, the reality of building digital Bangladesh in 2021 is clearly visible. After introducing the 3-G mobile telephone technology, the use of 4-G mobile phone technology is ensured.

To make the mobile phone technology safe SIMs are being registered under biometric method. 200 types of digital services are being given to the people through 5 thousand 737 digital centers and 8 thousand 200 e-post offices. Optical fiber has been expanded at the union level.

The manifesto also says that artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, block chain, IOT and other future technologies will be expanded.
