The demonstration began around 7:00 am on Tuesday (March 11) at the Hossain Market area in Tongi. With the intervention of the army, workers vacated the highway around 11:00 am, restoring normal traffic flow.

Confirming the development, Faridul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station, said that law enforcement and military personnel worked to persuade the workers to clear the roads. While the blockade ended, many workers remained stationed in front of their factory's main gate.

Meanwhile, another protest erupted in Mouchak, Kaliakair, where workers blocked the Dhaka-Tangail highway around 8:00 am following an alleged assault on a worker. Industrial police and army personnel intervened, convincing the workers to disperse, and traffic resumed around 10:00 am.

Kaliakair Police Station OC Riyad Mahmud confirmed that the highway was cleared after 10:00 am, stating that law enforcement de-escalated the situation by engaging with the protesters.

Gazipur Industrial Police Superintendent AKM Zahidul Islam assured that while the workers demonstrated in the morning, traffic has since returned to normal.
