United Nations Human Rights Organization has demanded fair investigation related to the eleventh national parliament election violence and post election violence, cases, arrests and all kinds of harassment.
The urge was made by the organization’s spokes person Ravina Shamdasani in a press release on Friday.
In the release Ravina said, we are informed about the incidents of violence and human rights violations before the December 30 election, during election, after the election. Number of incidents of injury and deaths were occurred on the election day. It is a matter of regret that the revenge, attack, bad behavior, mass arrest, harassment, forced disappearance and criminal case against the opposition are still going on. The information of attack and threat with help of law enforcement agency on minority people was also received.
Ravina also said, besides journalists are being threatened and attacked. Two journalists were arrested under Digital Security Act for election related news. From December 10 news oriented and others 54 websites were shut down. Besides incident of internet control was happened.
The release also said, we demand independent, neutral investigation of the allegation ignoring the political identity of the accused. As well as we will say to the authority that active measures should be taken so that law enforcement agencies can apply their power according to the laws to stop repetition of the incidents.
Besides it also urged National Human Rights Commission to take independent and active steps.
