Technical glitch forces Biman aircraft emergency landing at Shahjalal

A domestic aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital due to technical glitch.

The flight of Dhaka-Sylhet route made an emergency landing at the airport at around 4 pm on Friday as a rear wheel of the aircraft went off.

Director of Hazrat Shahjalal airport Nure Alam Siddiq said, the aircraft made emergency landing due to technical problem. No casualty was occurred. All the 61 passengers were evacuated from the aircraft safely.

He also said that the incident happened when State Minister for Civil Aviation Mahbub Ali was there in a surprise visit.

According to airport sources, flight BG-402 was coming Dhaka from Sylhet. The aircraft could not make its landing for the first time and went away over the runway as its wheels were not released. In the second attempt the aircraft made the risky emergency landing. Nobody was hurt following the incident.
