This year the lowest ‘fitra’ per person is fixed at taka 70 and the highest is fixed at 1 thousand 980 taka. The decision was taken at the meeting of national fitra fixing committee held at the meeting room of Islamic Foundation in Baitul Mokarram national mosque on Thursday.
Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mokarram national mosque Hafez Maulana Mizanur Rahman presided over the meeting.
He said, the rate of fitra was fixed according to the market price of flour at 42 taka per kilogram.
According to Islamic shariah fitra is fixed by the prices of flour, dates, raisin, cheese and barley. The lowest and highest rate of fitra are fixed according to the market price of lowest 1 kg 650 grams and highest 3 kg 300 grams of the commodities.
