Two Bangladesh Biman crews were arrested with Yaba at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The arrested are - Arif Pathan Rohit (30) and Al Mamun Shishir (30).
On Tuesday, raiding in Riad's Hotel Radisson Blu, a team of police of narcotics control arrested them.
General Manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Public Relations Shakil Miraj confirmed the news of the arrest.
According to the sources, Rohit and Shishir was the crew of Dhaka to Jeddah Flight BG-039 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. It is alleged that they sell Yaba in Riyadh.
Some of their partners said they buy Yaba from Dhaka and sell to expatriates in Saudi Arabia.
They have been running this Yaba business for two years. In Saudi Arabia, each Yaba is sold at 2 thousand taka in Bangladeshi currency.
After completing honors and masters from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at private American International University, Arif Pathan joined Biman Banglsdesh Airlines as a crew last year. Al Mamun Shishir's home is at Sitabganj in Dinajpur. He joined Biman Bangladesh Airlines two years ago.
