The attack on Dr. Zafar Iqbal at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet is unexpected. He was brought to Dhaka for treatment. His condition is a lot better now. They will be not in the heaven but in the hell fire because none can go to the heaven by killing people. There is no place for militancy in the country, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Prime Minister said this while distributing donations among the scientists and researchers at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The Prime Minister said that in April, Bangabandhu Satellite will be launched from Florida of the United States. At the Florida station from which it will be launched, natural disaster prevails for a long time. But we are moving ahead aiming a proper time.
She also said that new knowledge is not created if there is no research. You cannot go ahead without research. Research work will have to be strengthened.
The Prime Minister said that everybody has to be educated to build a country free from hunger and poverty. If the person is educated, he will be able to build his own future.
The Prime Minister also said that our children should be kept away from drugs, terrorism and militancy. In addition to teachers, parents need to be more careful about children. They have to be more tolerant.
The Prime Minister further said, by the Bangabandhu Trust, about 1600 students are getting Education Scholarship every month. We give donation to about 1800 members of the families of the victims of 21st August grenade attack every month.
She said that it is hard to find math, science and English teachers because those who are good at these subjects want to come to the capital. In January this year, 35 crore 42 lakh 90 thousand 162 books were handed over to the students. We are working to improve schools and colleges.
Regarding Blue Economy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, Blue Economy requires skilled manpower. We have less manpower. We need more ships for research.
