Movement has begun across the country protesting the rape and women repression incidents time and again. Mass rally is going on at capital’s Shahbag demanding resignation of the home minister and protesting the incidents of lawlessness. The mass rally started at 4 pm. On the other hand another group at the same time has begun mass rally and light procession in front of the National Press Club.
At Shahbag ‘Bangladesh against rape’- a platform of left leaning students’ organizations called the greater procession over allegation of ‘inactivity’ against the government to bring an end of women repression and continuous rape in the country. People from different districts also have joined the procession. They brought different anti rape placards and chanted slogans.
Meanwhile, in front of National Press Club general people including students and youths have gathered under banner of ‘Students and general people against rape and repression’. Huge number of police members has been deployed in these two places. Police at the press club premises have cordoned off the agitators. Intelligence agency members have been also deployed in the areas.
