Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, the Minister of Health of the United Arab Emirates, met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai today.
During the meeting, Minister Al Owais expressed his appreciation for the Chief Adviser’s participation in the prestigious summit, emphasizing that his presence had enriched the gathering of global government leaders.
"We learn from people like you," the UAE health minister remarked as they discussed various aspects of the summit. He noted that the WGS thrives on insights from global experts who bring valuable experiences from different parts of the world.
Al Owais also extended his best wishes to Professor Yunus for leading Bangladesh at a pivotal time in its history. He expressed optimism that relations between Bangladesh and the UAE would strengthen under the Interim Government, fostering greater collaboration in trade, business, and healthcare.
In response, Professor Yunus commended the UAE’s advancements in healthcare and disease prevention. He also conveyed gratitude to the UAE for hosting over a million Bangladeshi expatriates.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain, Special Envoy Lutfey Siddiqi, and Senior Secretary and Chief SDGs Coordinator of the Bangladesh government, Lamiya Morshed.
