The 'Except Israel' clause has been reinstated on Bangladeshi passports.
A directive issued on Sunday, signed by Nilima Afroze, Director-General of the Immigration and Passport Department, confirmed the decision.
The directive instructed the necessary steps to be taken to restore the 'Except Israel' clause on Bangladeshi passports, following the proper procedures.
Previously, Bangladeshi passports included the statement: "This passport is valid for all countries except Israel."
However, in 2020, under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership, the country introduced a new e-passport, and the clause was removed from the new passports.
No official announcement had been made regarding this change.
