The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against three individuals, including Tulip Rizwana Siddiq — niece of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former UK junior minister — over allegations of illegally acquiring a luxury apartment in Dhaka's Gulshan area.
The case was officially filed on Tuesday by ACC Deputy Director Monirul Islam at the commission’s Dhaka Integrated District Office.
According to ACC sources, the accused are:
- Tulip Rizwana Siddiq
- Shah Md Khasruzzaman, former Assistant Legal Advisor of RAJUK (Capital Development Authority)
- Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, former Assistant Legal Advisor-1 of RAJUK
The case alleges that the three conspired to abuse their power and illegally benefit by acquiring a flat from Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2 (Flat No. B/201, House No. 5A & 5B, now 113, 11B, Road No. 71) without making any financial payment. The property was later registered and transferred under their names.
They face charges under multiple sections of the Penal Code (120B, 409, 161–165A, and 109) as well as section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
A seven-member investigation team led by Deputy Director Monirul Islam had been assigned to probe the allegations. Other members of the team include Assistant Directors Afnan Jannat Keya, Mubashshira Atia Tama, S.M. Rashedul Hasan, A.K.M. Mortuza Ali Sagar, Md. Monirul Islam, and Deputy Assistant Director Md. Abdullah Al Mamun.
