The government has decided to include relevant election officials in the core committees formed at the division and district levels to maintain law and order during the election period.
This decision comes in response to a request from the Election Commission (EC). A directive in this regard, signed by Md. Mamun, Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Division, has recently been sent to all divisional commissioners and district administrators. A copy of the directive has also been forwarded to the Election Commission.
The directive states that core committees have been formed at the divisional level, headed by the divisional commissioner, and at the district level, headed by the district administrator, to maintain law and order and coordinate related activities.
The Election Commission requested the inclusion of election-related officials in these committees to ensure proper coordination of activities during the election period. The directive instructs authorities to take necessary measures accordingly.
As a result of this directive, relevant election officials will now be directly involved in meetings and activities related to maintaining law and order during the election period.
