The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is set to implement a modernised syllabus for the BCS examination, aiming to align it with global standards. This updated syllabus is expected to come into effect from the 49th BCS exam.
PSC Chairman Dr Mobasser Monem, along with other commission members, announced the development during a press conference held on Thursday, April 24.
In response to a journalist's question at the press conference, PSC member Md Sujayet Ullah said, "The process of formulating an updated BCS syllabus is progressing rapidly. This syllabus will be implemented from the 49th BCS onwards."
When asked about the nature of the new syllabus, he explained, "We are designing the syllabus not just for BCS. It is being structured in a way that would also prepare candidates to succeed in competitive exams globally."
During the press conference, the PSC also addressed key issues, including plans to clear the BCS exam backlog, expedite the viva voce (oral exams), tackle concerns about question paper leaks, and respond to ongoing demands raised by job seekers.
