So far, 942 people have received treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) after being injured while performing Qurbani, with 324 currently admitted.
Dr. Ripon Ghosh, a consultant physician at the hospital's emergency department, provided this information on Monday (June 9).
He stated that on the day of Qurbani, 325 patients with fractures and cuts came for treatment. Among them, 102 required emergency operations. On the same day, 122 severely injured individuals were admitted, while the rest were discharged after receiving primary treatment.
On the second day of Eid, 301 injured people came to the hospital. Eighty-three of them needed emergency operations, and 117 were admitted.
Earlier, on the day before Eid, 316 patients came to the hospital with broken limbs sustained from kicks while buying animals. Among them, 79 required emergency operations, and 85 were admitted.
In total, over the three days of Eid, 942 injured people sought treatment at the hospital. Among them, 264 required emergency operations. Currently, 324 are admitted, and 618 have been discharged from the hospital.
