Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, has departed Dhaka for a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom. He left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (June 9) at 7:30 PM with his entourage on an Emirates Airlines flight.
The interim head of the Bangladeshi government and his companions are expected to arrive at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday (June 10) at 12:30 PM (7:30 AM London time).
They will be greeted at the airport by Abida Islam, Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the UK, and representatives of the British King.
Akbar Hossain, Press Minister at the Bangladesh High Commission in London, confirmed this information to the media.
He stated that the Chief Adviser will hold several meetings in the hotel lobby on Tuesday, with more engagements expected to be added to his schedule later.
Sources indicate that after arriving at their Central London hotel from the airport and having breakfast, Dr. Yunus has several meetings planned.
Among these, members of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bangladesh will meet him at the hotel. The chairperson of this group is Apsana Begum, a British MP of Bangladeshi origin.
Following these meetings, time has been allocated for interviews with multiple media outlets. The Chief Adviser's press secretary may also hold a press briefing in London on Tuesday.
