Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has departed from London for Bangladesh after four months of medical treatment. She is accompanied by her two daughters-in-law, Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman.
On Monday, May 5th, at 4:10 PM UK local time (9:10 PM Bangladesh time), the special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, carrying Khaleda Zia, took off from London's Heathrow Airport.
In addition to family members, numerous BNP leaders and activists residing in the UK gathered at Heathrow International Airport to bid farewell to the BNP Chairperson.
After a brief layover in Qatar, the BNP Chairperson is expected to arrive at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6th. From the airport, she will proceed directly to her residence, "Firoza," in Gulshan.
Earlier on Monday, May 5th, at approximately 6:45 PM Bangladesh time, Tarique Rahman left his residence with his mother, Khaleda Zia, for the airport. She departed at 9:10 PM Bangladesh time, 4:10 PM UK time, in the special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar. She is accompanied by her two daughters-in-law and nine members of her medical board.
Khaleda Zia traveled to London on January 8th for advanced medical treatment in a royal air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. She is returning home in the same aircraft after four months.
Meanwhile, the BNP has completed all preparations for her arrival. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has instructed party leaders and activists to welcome the BNP leader in an orderly manner.
