A cyclist named Hamza Rahman (55) was killed after being hit by a motorcycle at Shailkupa in Jhenaidah. Another person was injured at this time.
The accident took place on Saturday (May 11) evening in the Hazramina Bottola area of Shailkupa-Langalbandh road.
The deceased Hamza is the son of Rafa Uddin of Sondah village of Shailkupa upazila.
Locals said that in the evening, Hamza Rahman was going to Shailkupa market from home with a bicycle. On reaching the spot on the way, a motorcycle coming from the front and hit him and took him 200 yards away. At this time the motorcycle fell into the pond. And the cyclist fell on the road and was seriously injured.
The doctor declared the cyclist dead when he was taken to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex. Injured motorcyclist Masud has been admitted to Upazila Health Complex.
Shafiqul Islam Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station, confirmed the matter.
