Miscreants hacked a ward councilor to death named Jamirul Islam of Gopalpur municipality under Lalpur upazla in Natore district. The body was kept at Lalpur upazila health complex.
He was hacked to death on the road in front of his home at Biropar on Sunday afternoon.
Officer in Charge of Lalpur police station Nazrul Islam Jewel confirmed the news to Rtv online.
He said, Jamirul was going to the nearby mosque to say his Johr prayers after emerging from his home. At that time a group of miscreants hacked him sporadically and left the place. Then the locals rescued Jamirul and took him to the health complex where the on duty physician declared him dead. Drives are underway to find out the reason and detain the miscreants involved in the killing.
