Washington Plane Crash:18 Bodies Recovered

A tragic mid-air collision between a passenger aircraft and a US Army helicopter has resulted in a catastrophic crash into the Potomac River. All 64 people aboard the aircraft are presumed dead, with 18 bodies recovered so far.

According to Sky News, citing police reports, the incident occurred near Reagan Washington National Airport on Thursday (January 30) at approximately 9:00 am Bangladesh time.

The aircraft, operated by PSA Airlines, carried 64 individuals, including four crew members. The US Army's Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter had three military personnel on board at the time of the collision.

Multiple agencies, including the US Park Police, DC Metropolitan Police, and the US military, launched an immediate search and rescue operation. Officials confirmed that the aircraft plunged into the Potomac River following the collision, prompting an extensive recovery effort.

In response to the disaster, all takeoffs and landings at Reagan Washington National Airport have been temporarily suspended as authorities continue their investigation and rescue operations.
