In London, the capital of the United Kingdom, hundreds of Indians staged a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission. The demonstration escalated when a group among the protesters launched an attack on the building.
According to a report by Pakistan's Express Tribune on Sunday (27 April), protesters broke several windows of the High Commission and defaced its exterior walls and plaques with saffron-colored paint.
The attack caused widespread chaos and significant property damage. In response, security around the High Commission has been tightened, and an investigation is underway to identify those responsible.
During the protest, police intervened and arrested two individuals on charges of violence. Supporters of Pakistan also held a counter-protest nearby.
Tensions between Pakistan and India have sharply escalated following a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Both nations have since taken retaliatory measures, and the atmosphere remains highly volatile.
On 22 April, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam left 26 people, including tourists, dead. India accused Pakistan of indirect involvement and subsequently suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty. In retaliation, Pakistan suspended the Simla Agreement, closed its airspace to Indian aircraft, and halted all trade with India.
