The operation against the armed group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) in the Chittagong Hill Tracts will continue until they are completely eliminated, stated Abdul Hafiz, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor of the interim government.
He made this statement to reporters on Tuesday (February 18) after the first working session on the final day of the three-day Deputy Commissioners' Conference.
Abdul Hafiz mentioned that the Deputy Commissioners raised questions about the Kuki-Chin issue concerning the army's role. He explained that the terrorist activities of the Kuki-Chin National Army in the Chittagong Hill Tracts are disrupting the tourism industry in several upazilas, leading to job losses among the local youth and pushing them towards terrorism. The discussion focused on how to overcome this situation.
He further stated, "We informed them that the ongoing operation against Kuki-Chin will continue. So far, seven of our soldiers have been killed, and many others have been injured during the operation. This mission will persist until Kuki-Chin is completely eradicated."
