The Chief Prosecutor's Office has requested Interpol to issue red notices against 10 fugitives, including former ministers Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, in connection with the July genocide case.
Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Mohammad Tazul Islam, confirmed on Thursday (April 10) that a letter has been sent to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) seeking Interpol's assistance.
The list of accused includes:
- Former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque
- Former Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud
- Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak
- Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh
- Former Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel
- Former State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid
- Former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat
- Former Defense Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Major General (Retd.) Tariq Ahmed Siddiq
All 10 individuals are currently absconding, according to the prosecution.
