The prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today (Monday) filed its formal charge in a case against 12, including former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman, and his son Imtinan Osman Ayon alias Ayon Osman, for their alleged role in committing crimes against humanity in Narayanganj during the mass uprising in July-August 2024.
Confirming the development to newsmen, prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim stated that the formal charge was filed with the office of the ICT Registrar this morning, and the ICT-1 is likely to hold a hearing on the matter.
The first tribunal on October 12, 2025, had set January 11, 2026, for submitting the probe report in a case against Ayon Osman and seven others, lodged over crimes against humanity committed in Narayanganj during the July-August Mass Uprising.
According to the prosecution, former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman and his cohorts committed crimes against humanity in Narayanganj during the July-August Mass Uprising.
They carried out mass killings in an attempt to suppress the Mass Uprising, the prosecution said.
