The prosecution at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) on Sunday concluded its arguments on charge framing against former lawmaker Shamim Osman and 11 others for alleged crimes against humanity during the 2024 July-August Mass Uprising in Narayanganj.

During the hearing, the prosecution detailed the specific complicity of the accused in atrocities that resulted in the deaths of 10 people in the Fatullah and Signboard areas on July 19, July 21 and August 5 in 2024.

Following the prosecution's submission, ICT-1 Chairman Justice Golam Mortuza Mazumder adjourned the proceedings until April 23.

On that date, the defense is scheduled to present its arguments seeking the discharge of the accused.

In addition to Shamim Osman, the case involves several prominent family members and associates, including his son Ayan Osman, nephew Azmeri Osman, Ayan’s brother-in-law Minhaj Uddin Ahmed Diki, and Shamim’s brother-in-law Tanvir Ahmed Titu.

The legal process reached this stage after the prosecution submitted formal charges on January 19, 2026.

Following the tribunal's cognizance of the charges, arrest warrants were issued against all the accused individuals.
