While replying to a question from a newsman regarding the legal recourse available to the former Vice-Chancellor, the prosecutor clarified that the convict will still be able to file an appeal against his conviction as the full text of the judgment has not yet been officially released.

“He would be able to file the appeal within three days of getting the certified copy of the judgment,” the prosecutor added.

Previously, the second tribunal on April 9, 2026, convicted and sentenced two former policemen to death and 28 others to various jail terms in the landmark crimes-against-humanity case filed over the sensational killing of the BRUR student, Abu Sayed.
