Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, after the verdict of 21st August grenade attack case it is clear that BNP is a terrorist party. Internationally the Canadian court and the Bangladesh court have termed BNP as a terrorist party in their verdict. BNP is politically a terrorist organization. People of the country will see them in that way. Their morality and image are at the lowest stage. They have lost their qualifications to keep the registration valid in the Election Commission.
He said these to the newsmen while replying to questions at Jajira toll plaza of Shariatpur at the south end of the Padma bridge on Friday.
He also said, whether BNP would come in the election or not or what they will do in this situation that is their own matter. We have no headache in this regard. BNP says one thing in the morning and another in the afternoon. Taking part in the election is their right. Should we invite them to participate in the election? They had done mistake by not taking part in the election. They are now getting the result.
The Bridges Minister said, after the verdict of August 21 grenade attack case our demand is to the High Court that mastermind Tarique Rahman should be given the order of death sentence. Besides, former prime minister Khaleda Zia cannot avoid the responsibility in this case. She should be brought under justice.
Quader also informed the newsmen that five spans at the Jajira end and one span at the Mawa end were placed for the Padma bridge.
Member of Parliament from Shariatpur-1 constituency BM Mozammel Haque and Awami Lwague Organizing Secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim among others were present on the occasion.
