Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have continued their demonstration to press home their 16-point demand. They have locked up the registrar building. The agitating students have declared to continue their movement until the demand is fulfilled.
Wednesday was the fifth day of their continuous movement. On this day the students being united have locked up the registrar building.
According to the declared schedule on Wednesday more than one thousand students gathered in front of the BUET Sheheed Minar at around 1 pm. Then they chanted slogans and took their position in front of the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Spokesman for the agitating students Hasan Sarwar Saikat said, BUET teachers association has supported our logical movement. A statement signed by Professor Dr. AKM Maksud was sent to the agitating students.
There it was said that the teachers are not satisfied over the activities of the incumbent Vice Chancellor. The demands that the students have placed are logical. BUET teachers have expressed solidarity with the movement of students.
