Nine Banned Including Eight Third Division Cricketers
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) banned 8 cricketers and a club official for violating the code of conduct. At the same time, they have also been fined financially.
This was announced in a press release on behalf of BCB President Faruk Ahmed on Friday (November 22).
The release said that 8 cricketers and a club official have been banned for 1 year for violating the code of conduct and all will have to pay a fine of at least Tk50,000.
It also said that the BCB will not be flexible in any kind of disciplinary incident at any level of domestic cricket. Therefore, this can be taken as a message to the cricketers and officials that the board will take strict action in case of violation of the code of conduct.
Consequently, Tejgaon Cricket Academy players Yeasin Arafat, Md Rifat Al Emon (Anik), Tasin Ahmed Ronobi, Md Rabbi Hasan, Md Parvez Ahmed Joy, and team official Robin, along with Sapphire Sporting Club's Md Rana Khan, Saiful Islam Shawon, and Md Hridoy, were found guilty regarding this incident.
It is learned that cricketers from Tejgaon Cricket Academy and Sapphire Sporting Club got into a fight during the Super League match held at PKSF No. 1 ground last Monday. Later, the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis punished them based on evidence of the incident.
