Tamim Iqbal fell ill while playing a Premier League match at the BKSP ground. After experiencing sudden chest pain, he was rushed to the Fazilatunnessa Hospital near BKSP. His condition deteriorated, and he was placed on life support.
This was confirmed by a source from the BCB Medical Department on Monday (March 24).
On the same day, Tamim played for Mohammadan against Shinepukur at BKSP's third ground. He had also participated in the toss as the team's captain.
After feeling chest pain, Tamim initially received primary treatment at BKSP. However, his condition did not improve, and he was transferred to Fazilatunnessa Hospital in Savar. He is currently receiving treatment there.
Mohammadan's manager Tariqul Islam, explained that there was a plan to airlift Tamim to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, but due to his physical condition, he was not fit for helicopter transport. As a result, he is being treated at Fazilatunnessa Hospital.
The news of Tamim's illness postponed the BCB board meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 12 pm. BCB officials and directors are heading to the hospital to visit him.
