After the health scare subsided, Tamim Iqbal was transferred from Savar to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. After receiving three consecutive treatments there, the national team's star opener has now returned home four days later.
On Friday, March 28, following the Friday prayers, Tamim was discharged from Evercare Hospital and returned to his residence in DOHS, Banani, Dhaka. His treatment will continue there under family care.
Earlier this week, on Monday morning, just after the toss, Tamim felt mild chest pain. He immediately informed the team's physiotherapist and trainer. Initially, it was suspected to be a gastric issue, and he took medication. However, when his condition did not improve, he was taken to the nearest hospital as a precaution. After receiving treatment there, he returned to BKSP.
As his condition worsened, an alternative plan was made. Following discussions with his team manager (Mohammedan Sporting Club), Shipon Bhai, a helicopter was arranged to transfer him for advanced medical care. However, his condition continued to deteriorate, and he was moved again to KPJ Hospital and the Nursing College. After tests, it was discovered that he had a heart blockage.
Tamim was stabilized after 22 minutes of CPR and three DC shocks, allowing the doctors to proceed with the operation, which was ultimately successful.
Later that afternoon, doctors informed the public that Tamim was not entirely out of danger and needed close observation for the next 48 hours. On Tuesday, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital. After spending three days there, Tamim has now returned home.
