In the second match of the tri-nation Nidahas T-20 Trophy India beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets. With help of a splendid innings from Shikhar Dhawan India managed to achieve the target of 140 runs with 8 balls to spare. Opener Dhawan hammered 55 runs facing 43 runs and was out by Taskin Ahmed in the 17th over. Then Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik made India reaching the target. Manish Pandey and Suresh Raina scored 27 (not out) and 28 runs respectively while Karthik was not out 2. Rohit Sharma scored 17 runs off 13 balls.
Among Bangladesh bowlers Rubel Hossain took 2, Mustafiz and Taskin bagged one wicket each.
With this defeat tigers could not come out the defeating sphere that started from their home series against Sri Lanka. This was their first match in the Nidahas tournament.
Earlier losing the toss Bangladesh went on batting at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In the stipulated 20 overs Tigers scored 139 runs with loss of 8 wickets. Opener Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar managed to score double figures in their individual innings. In at three Liton Das made 34 runs playing 30 balls which was the highest individual score for the team. Sabbir scored second highest 30 runs off 26 balls. Mushfiqur scored 18 off 14 balls. Taskin was not out 8. Indian bowler Unadkat took 3 wickets, Shankar bagged 2 while Thakur and Chahal took one wicket each.
